According to him, EndSARS protest influenced the Federal Executive Council’s decision to increase the salaries of Nigeria Police Force personnel, yet these same police they are fighting for harass them on a daily basis. The government of President Muhammadu Buhari has been accused of taking the country backwards. Nyesom Wike, governor of Rivers State said this as he warned Nigerians on the choice of president in 2023. According to Wike, the APC-led Federal Government has set Nigeria 20 years backwards in just six and half years of being in government. Muritala Olawale, a structural engineer, has told a Coroner Inquest into the 21-storey Gerard Road, Ikoyi, Lagos building collapse that the builders were not certified. Olawale made the disclosure in Ikeja yesterday while testifying on the circumstances that led to the November 1 building collapse in which 46 people died. The naira continued its downward trend as the dollar was sold for N570 in the parallel market on Tuesday. Operators, who spoke to our correspondent, said the dollar was bought and sold for N567 and N570 respectively on Tuesday, compared to N550 and N555 three weeks earlier. The British pound sterling was also bought and sold for N740 and N745.
