Ojodu Grammar School: Lagos State Ask Students To Stay Home Till January

The Lagos state government has asked students of the Ojodu grammar school to stay home till January following the closure of the school after the incident that occurred on Tuesday.

Ojodu Grammar School: Lagos State Ask Students To Stay Home Till JanuaryThe Assistant Director of Public Affairs at the State Ministry of Education, Ganiu Lawal, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday. According to the statement, Governor Sanwo-Olu sympathizes with parents who lost their children in the incident that occurred on Tuesday.

sanwo-olu“He understands that this is a difficult time for them, praying that the Lord will comfort them,” it said. “He empathizes with the parents and guardians of other students in the state health facilities, assuring them of the best medical attention.”

Sanwo-Olu Tests Negative, Comes Out Of IsolationThe Lagos state government confirmed that two students died on the spot while 12 others comprising seven girls and five boys sustained varying degrees of injuries. He stated that the government would be responsible for the medical expenses of all the students, the government also confirmed that some students who had slight injuries have been discharged.

The Commissioner for Education in Lagos, Mrs. Folasade Adefisayo, who visited the school on behalf of the governor, described the incident as quite unfortunate and devastating.

Nigerian Actor Arrested For Peddling Drugs In India

Nigerian national, Chekwume Malvin, who works as an actor in the Indian film industry has been arrested for allegedly peddling drugs . The 45-year-old was caught red-handed on Wednesday near the BDA Complex in HRBR Layout by operatives of the Indian Police Service, attached to the K.G. Halli police division . The police seized about 15 grams of MDMA, 250 ml of hashish oil, ₹2,500 (N13, 850) in cash and a mobile phone. The total value of the seized items is estimated to be around ₹8 lakh (N44).
