Julianna Pena provided one of the greatest UFC upsets of all-time at by submitting Amanda Nunes in the co-main event of UFC 269 to win the women’s bantamweight title. Pena – who had only fought twice in the last two years – was dropped by a calf kick from Nunes in the first strike of the fight as she struggled to land anything significant in the opening round. The American was forced to defend submission attempts from Nunes whilst seeking her own from the bottom position as the first round came to a close.
